World Environment Day 2025 – Student Competitions

Organized by Greencross Foundation – Center for Deep Ecology

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, the Greencross Foundation – Center for Deep Ecology, based in Palakkad, is organizing a state-level online competition series for school and college students across Kerala.

This initiative aims to raise awareness, creativity, and responsibility among young minds about environmental conservation and sustainable living.

Important Dates

• • Quiz Competition (for school students only): June 5, 2025 (Evening – Finished)

• • Submission Deadline (for all other entries): June 15, 2025

• • Award Ceremony & Environmental Workshop: End of June 2025, Palakkad

Competition Categories & Guidelines

1. Online Environment Quiz (School Students Only)

• • Date: June 5, 2025 (Finished)

• • Mode: Online (link will be shared with registered students)

• • Language: Malayalam, Tamil or English

• • Topics: General Environmental Awareness, Nature Conservation, Ecology

2. Research Essay (College Students)

• • Theme: “നമ്മെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്ന പ്രകൃതി” (Nature That Protects Us)

• • Language: Malayalam

• • Format: Typed Text in Unicode, max 1500 Words or 4 pages

• • Judging Criteria: Content originality, depth of research, clarity, and relevance

3. Video Speech (College Students)

• • Theme: “നമ്മെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്ന പ്രകൃതി”

• • Language: Malayalam

• • Duration: 5 to 8 minutes

• • Format: MP4 or YouTube unlisted link

• • Judging Criteria: Presentation, language, message clarity, originality

4. Drawing / Painting (School & College Students)

• • Theme: “നമ്മെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്ന പ്രകൃതി”

• • Medium: Any (crayon, watercolor, digital)

• • Submission Format: Clear photo or scanned copy (JPEG/PDF)

• • Judging Criteria: Creativity, visual appeal, message relevance

• • Mention the participant’s name, school/college, class/department, and contact number in the email body.

• • The subject line must include the competition category (e.g., “Essay Submission – College”).

• • Select winners will also get a chance to present their work at the award ceremony in Palakkad.

Award Ceremony & Environment Workshop

A one-day state-level award ceremony and environmental awareness workshop will be held in Palakkad at the end of June 2025.
Sessions will include:

• • Talks by environmental experts

• • Exhibitions of winning artworks and essays

• • Experience sharing by young eco-champions

All winners and select participants will be invited to attend.
