• Focus on grassroots ecological awareness grows, laying the groundwork for future initiatives.

1994: Establishment of the Eco Commune

• Inspired by the principles of sustainable living, the Eco Commune is founded.

• This phase focuses on group living experiments, promoting self-reliance, natural farming, and sustainable community practices.

1995–2002: Eco Commune Experiments

• The Eco Commune becomes a hub for permaculture, alternative education, and eco-friendly technologies.

• Workshops and training sessions on natural hygiene and sustainable farming are organized for local communities.

2003–2005: Transition Towards Ecosophical Education

• The vision expands to integrate deep ecological and ecosophical principles.

• Planning begins for an Ecosophical Gurukula to combine traditional wisdom with modern ecological practices.

2006: Inception of Navagothra Gurukulam

• The Ecosophical Gurukula, also known as Navagothra Gurukulam, is formally established.

• It emphasizes eco-centric wisdom, mutual living, and sustainable social activism.

2007–2013: Diversification of Activities

• The Gurukula becomes a center for natural hygiene, alternative education, eco-spiritual practices, and resource-based economy experiments.

• Local and international volunteers contribute to projects focused on environmental conservation and cultural upliftment.

2014–2019: Formalization and Global Engagement

• The organization formalizes as the Greencross Foundation, broadening its scope to include global partnerships and a deeper focus on ecosophy.

• Key projects include afforestation drives, biodiversity conservation, and eco-spiritual fellowship programs.

2015: Participation in the World Peace Conference

• Representatives from the Greencross Foundation participate in the World Peace Conference, sharing insights on the connection between ecological harmony and global peace.

• The foundation presents its ecosophical philosophy as a framework for addressing environmental and cultural challenges worldwide.

2020: Launch of the Eco Village Project

• The foundation announces the Greencross Eco Village Project, aiming to establish Kerala’s first integrated eco-village in Padur, Palakkad.

• Inspired by models like Auroville and the Global Ecovillage Network, the project envisions a self-reliant, sustainable human settlement.

2021–2023: Implementation of Eco Village Initiatives

• The pilot project begins on 4 acres of land, with plans for expansion to 3,500 acres, including a virgin forest.

• Core activities include permaculture farming, green school development, eco-spiritual ashram establishment, and fauna sanctuary creation.

2024: Global Recognition and Scaling Efforts

• The Eco Village gains recognition under the Global Ecovillage Network and expands fundraising efforts for infrastructure and land acquisition.
