Santhosh Olympuss
Orator of Olympuss Doctrine | Founder of Greencross Foundation
Santhosh Olympuss, born in 1971 in Palakkad, Kerala, is a visionary orator and the founder of the Greencross Foundation. Raised by educator parents, N. Velukkutty and Saralabhai, both primary school headteachers, Santhosh’s intellectual curiosity was nurtured from an early age. He began reading books at just two and a half years old, sparking a lifelong quest for knowledge and self-inquiry. His formative years were shaped by a profound connection with nature, a deep respect for all living beings, and an unwavering commitment to environmental and social justice.
At the age of 8, an incident that led to the accidental death of a chick under his feet had a life-changing impact on Santhosh. This emotional experience fueled his renunciation of non-vegetarian food, followed by the decision to avoid consuming even green leaves after an insightful discussion with his father about the value of life in all forms. This commitment earned him the pen name “Aparnan,” signifying his dedication to a non-violent, compassionate lifestyle.
In 1981, at the age of 9, Santhosh co-founded a Children’s Science Club with his friend Guvayurappan (A prominent animal rescuer and former director of the Wildlife Protection Society of India). Through their experiments and scientific projects, they realized that science cannot be separated from the environment. As they grew, their focus expanded to world peace, environmental protection, and compassion for animals, which they spread through musical and theatrical performances.
By 1986, Santhosh’s reflections on societal inequalities led him to envision a self-reliant, nature-based group life centered on their knowledge of science and the environment. Along with his friends, he began exploring ideas for sustainable living, driven by the desire to bridge the gap between economic disparity and personal fulfillment.
Santhosh’s spiritual journey began when he sought answers to his existential questions from Sadguru Mani, a yogacharya focusing on Siddha practices. Inspired by the guru’s emphasis on inner wisdom, Santhosh gradually shifted from reading books to seeking knowledge through self-inquiry, a transition that deeply influenced his philosophical outlook.
This personal evolution, combined with his deep ecological convictions, culminated in the founding of the Greencross Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to promoting sustainable living, deep ecological awareness, and compassion for all living beings. It focuses on a variety of initiatives, including environmental education, animal welfare, and the creation of eco-villages that integrate sustainability, spirituality, and community living.
Santhosh Olympuss’ life’s work reflects his commitment to a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature. His mission is to cultivate eco-centric values, promote sustainability, and inspire others to live with deep ecological wisdom. Through the Olympuss Doctrine and the Greencross Foundation, he continues to inspire individuals and communities around the world to embrace an eco-spiritual way of life.
Currently, Santhosh Olympuss resides at Navagothra Gurukula, where he has lived since the age of three. He shares this space with his mother, Sarala Bhai, a retired headmistress; his disciple and wife, Ponni Olympaue; his daughter, Prapancha Olympae; and his son, Prajna Olympaue. The Gurukula is also frequented by students and followers who visit regularly for learning and spiritual practice. His family dedicates half of their time to the Padur campus, actively engaging in the various initiatives of the Eco Village.
